A frame I milled from a solid piece of butternut. Practicing with clip art models and decided to make a real world object from my mashup as I was liking it.
I routed the round rabbet in the back to tuck the mirror in on a regular table router, seemed more efficient than doing this two sided.
Overall size is 10.75, opening is 4" for a 4.5" mirror
I wish you all a warm shop this winter

Re: Frame from models
What a great project, thanks for sharing! I've heard butternut is fairly easy to work with and carves well - I'll have to try it sometime.
Enjoy the holidays,
Charlie
