BBS foam and Bigtopo

Post by Makingtoothpicks »

I tried some pink foam I had from a insulation jod I did on the house.
Today I made a map of Ireland. The data was from BigTopo. I owe you
a tip also Mr. Bigtopo. Next SSI check LOL check is in the mail. I was
surprised at how well it turned out. Now to primer it and paint.

Looks good Don, and yes, I like the added bits too!

Was this with v3? Did the on-screen preview work for you?
Cheers!

Yes it is the latest version of BigTopo. Everything worked fine. I need to do a marina and Long Island next.
The extras I was trying to make it like and old map. Monsters and the unknown in uncharted waters. LOL

Looks like it came out well even if it's not actually a map of Ireland

The map is actually the UK, Ireland should be about where you have placed the Celtic Knot

As it turns out I used the wrong STL. this was a test and I will run it again with the correct STL.
I guess they will take my Irish name away and I will be made to drink regular beer. LOL

Scott, Scotland is part of the UK, it's that bit at the top of Don's map
Oh & just as an aside I am actually not from Scotland, I may have lived here for over 40 years but I was born & went to school south of the border. I was born in London & went to school in Epsom (Surrey) which is just south of London. Joined the Royal Navy at 16 & spent my 20 years in the RN based in Scotland. When I left I had 3 kids at school so it didn't seem fair to take them away from all that they knew. It was also a nice place to live so I just stayed
