latest project

Post by NormanAlbert »

Hi One and all: So my wife showed me a picture of a Live Well, Love Much, Laugh Often sign so here is my version.
I cut strips of Corian to 1/4 inch thick and then cut the general shape of the ribbon so I could cnc the words. A bit of time in the toaster oven and I could then shape the ribbon ends without too much trouble. The apples are from the 3d clip art and joined 3 of them together in VC8. The 3 together are 6.5 inches wide and I made them 1/2 inch thick. Total ribbon length is 28 inches and 7 inches high. Copper leaf for the words, gold leaf for the apples. Norm

You'd be surprised. At only 1/4 inch thick and heated to about 300 degrees it's very pliable. The problem is in holding the shape until it cools enough to stay put. I need a thick pair of leather gloves. Norm

Very cool sign. Great idea.

Get you a pair of welder's gloves or oven/ BBQ gloves.
