Re: Cutting board
I cut pocket1 first to level the surface. I should be more organized with my toolpaths haha

Re: Cutting board
Thanks for the info, I was in the shop trying the project out. I found that if I run Pocket 1 later in the process it erases my work such as the circles, the names and the wreaths. I may have some settings off and i'll check them in the morning. Thanks again for posting the files its a great project.
Your second post about Pocket 1 just came through (probably held up at the border LOL) as I was sending this reply.
Thanks again

Re: Cutting board
Nice designs! I love the Celtic twist and the Victorian flourish you use around the name.

Very impressive work. Thank you for the files. They are much appreciated. Do you remember what font you were using for these projects. I have played with different fonts but I just don't like the look as much as what you used. Again, thank you so much for the files they have really been helpful to me.

Re: Cutting board
We thank you also for the files. Here's one we produced with our last name.
I also wanted to thank you for the idea to use a character in a specialized font as a flourish. FYI: The flourish above and below the name is one character from the font "Victorian Free Ornaments Two." Each character is some different flourish. This font can be downloaded (free for non-commercial use) here: http://www.dafont.com/victorian-free-ornaments-two.font
I wanted to thank you for the idea. This is a really easy way to get some great stylistic embellishments.
Appreciatively,

And here's the other one. I love the Celtic Twist design on this. Thanks for the files.

The first one I posted, with the Victorian flourish above and below the name, is cherry.mpol0717 wrote:What kind of wood did you use?
The second one, with the Celtic twist pattern is ash.
Thanks again,

Re: Cutting board
When I prepare a file for sharing, I often place useful information about toolpaths and other stuff in a note (Edit-Note). This has also helped me with a file that I haven't looked at for a while.mpol0717 wrote:I cut pocket1 first to level the surface. I should be more organized with my toolpaths haha
Put a period as the first character and the note will pop up whenever the file is loaded.

Thanks for the files. Its great when folks put files on to help us new folks (with no experience) to do things and learn.
Here is my attempt at the board. It turned out okay.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Cutting board
What a great job! That said, I already see a big problem with it...I showed it to my wife and no, she doesn't want one, she wants two, one for her and one for her sister. ;o( . Again good job, thanks for the file, I think.
Re: Cutting board
Beautiful, any chance you could post the dxf file for those who don't have vcarve 8?
