Hi Everyone

The Cutting Board I posted (RobertD) was a solid piece of Walnut finished with salad bowl oil. I followed the file dimensions mpol0717 posted. The board is 14" X 9" and is 1/2 inch thick. I finished the edges on my router table as I thought it was quicker.

Once again thanks to all who post files as it gives us all a chance to learn.

Thanks for sharing your DXF files. It helps a lot of us who do not have the newest versions.

You got me motivated. This is made from black walnut which i did not care far. I made some rookie mistakes cutting it and had to walk away from it until the next day. But i improvised. To not cut up the logo i put a drip line on the back side of it.

Very cool! Looks good. What bit did you use to cut the fluted border?

its a round headed bit, 1/2 in diameter and 1/2 inch shank. I went down .3 of an inch and changes are .2 would have been enough. I have had it so long but i think that i got it from http://www.rockler.com/power-tool-acces ... outer-bits

Thanks Andy, you should have heard the screaming when i made the mistakes, it would have made a sailor blush. : )

Hi Folks

Well mpol0717 got me started and others joined in so I just had to make another board based on the second file uploaded. I have not oiled it, and may not until my wife lets me know whether its a bread board or a meat board.

Thanks again for sharing the files.

I used your pattern with a laser. It worked quite nicely. Thanks

This is on a bamboo cutting board I bought off of Amazon.

Nice job! The laser cutting looks pretty sweet. I've always wanted to get a laser cnc.

Anyone have suggestions on food safe stain?

Food safe stain: very strong coffee.

Something that I have used on engravings in cutting boards is food colouring. They can be mixed to make additional colours including dark brown.
