Texas Plaque

Postby highpockets » Tue Jan 05, 2016 10:04 pm

A friend of mine wanted a Texas plaque for a European mount on a deer he shot this season.

Not knowing exactly what he wanted I decided to do a prototype for him to make sure it was what he wanted before I cut it in some good wood. So I took a piece of old scrap 3/4" plywood and made the plaque. He loved it and didn't want it remade in good wood. You never know.

Nice! Curious as to why the green felt on the back of the mount piece?

KeithW,

Good question. As I said I was using a scrap piece of junk plywood and the last bit of scrap big enough to cut out the mount had a big knot hole in the back side. So I filled in the knot hole with wood filler and covered the back with green felt to spruce it up a bit.
