Recipe Box

Post by Mark's Wood Chips »

I made this recipe box for my wife based on Michael Tyler's Paradise Box. It is hard maple about 5/8" thick and finished with 3 coats of lacquer. The sides and inside top are custom engraved and the sides have a gentle arc from top to bottom. Thanks for looking at my first post with photos.

Nice work Mark. It's always good to see more variants of the Paradise Box.

As CarveOne has already said nice work Mark, lots of different variations of the box, guessing Michael didn't predict that when he first put it out as a vectric project lol

I've done a few slightly different variations all based around the original idea.

Mark,
Nice job and it gives it another use (appearance). So... what is the size of the inside compartments with your design?

Hi Bill:

The inside dimension (inches) of each compartment is 5.625W x 3.75H x 6.5D, the divider is 3.125H. It is roomy enough for 3x5 index cards with plenty of space for the chain. I made some drop in blocks to keep the cards upright as each compartment fills. I asked my wife to hand write each card because we received a bunch of hand written recipes from our parents after they passed and we cherish not only the great recipes but also the hand writing of our moms.
