Harley Eagle Plaque
I have a friend that wanted me to do this in a plaque. Started with the .jpg in another program that let me change it to a line drawing and save as a .bmp. Then used Vcarve to draw vectors. It took about 57 minutes to cut.

Re: Harley Eagle Plaque
You did a great job on that, mind if I ask what application you used to convert it to a line drawing? I sometimes have issues with that part even when using the Aspire trace routine.

I used a program called SMI Commercial - www.carvingtechnologies.com. It has a bit of a learning curve, but if I can learn it, anyone can.

Re: Harley Eagle Plaque
I know they won't let me post it with the Logo intact so I have deleted it - I cut mine approx. 11" X 11" with a 60 dvb

I just opened it up in both, you may want to download it again and see if that fixes the issue.jamore03 wrote:Hello,

It was done in VCarve Pro, saved and posted as an .eps file. Should work for you.

Re: Harley Eagle Plaque
A word to the wise, from someone who used to run a motorcycle towing service in southern CommieFornia.
Harley Davidson is VERY protective of anyone reproducing their LOGO without their "blessing." If you make ONE to hang on your wall, they won't b*tch (much.) But if you are caught selling them online or at a swap meet, they will come down on you with threats of lawsuits like you won't believe. You cannot imagine how many lawyers they keep on speed dial! A friend who ran a competitive towing service just put the Harley LOGO in one corner of his first box of business cards, with Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, BMW and Ducati strewn elsewhere around the card. Harley saw the card and sent him a letter with a threat of a $10,000.00 lawsuit for "illegally" using the Harley LOGO on his business cards ... for a motorcycle towing service! He went through the box of 1,000 cards and stuck a gold star over the LOGO to pacify the attorneys.
So if you make these, give (or sell) them only to trusted friends on a private basis with threats of certain death to anyone who tells anyone who made it.

Re: Harley Eagle Plaque
I did not see anywhere that this eagle was produced by Harley and there was no registered mark, I deleted the logo for all the above reasons.

Re: Harley Eagle Plaque
It does not matter to ME, but I have seen what Harley does to people who use their logos, their motorcycle images and even the SOUND of their engines without their consent.sunshinejim wrote:I did not see anywhere that this eagle was produced by Harley and there was no registered mark, I deleted the logo for all the above reasons.
