Tulip

Post by llwood »

An ornamental flower, modeled after a tulip. Can either be a decorative as is, or it can hold a votive candle.

Made up of 4 separate pieces, all made in VCP, the stem using the wrapping gadget.

Fascinating use of 2d to make a 3d project. Good work.

Sure, Barry, be happy to. It consists of three files, one for the leaves/base, one for the flower, and one for the stem. The one for the stem is done with the wrapping gadget, but if you don't have a machine with a rotary axis you can do it by squaring the base of a 3/4" dowel.

Let us know how it goes.

After downloading, I see I will have to make a list and buy some more tools before I can try this project.

One more picture. My Dad cut a bunch of these and gave them to my sister Erica for painting. This is the result. Erica says, "This is my kind of gardening!"

Those are beautiful. Thanks for sharing the files. Could tell which bits you used for the inside round over and petals tool paths? I think I've found the right one's, but I would like to know for sure before I buy them.
