VCarved and Gilded Signs from Diane and Ernie
VCarved and Gilded Signs from Diane and Ernie
2 Fantastic signs carved by Ernie and Diane Balch on their home
built CNC router using VCarve Wizard.
Although the software does a great job of making the basic sign shapes,
the really hard bit is in the finishing and gilding, and Diane and Ernie have
done a tremendous job on these signs.
Both signs are cut from high density sign foam and painted. The lettering
on the Oak Tree Road sign is gold paint.
The Howling Wolf Inn sign includes gilded gold leaf lettering and Blue Smalts
which is small glass beads packed and glued onto the surface to give
a stunning effect!

I hope this question to anyone who might think as me.
And Tony,
I know this one is for of the wishlish feature or I've missed somewhere in the Forum.
for the beautyful "Howling Wolf Inn" sign, as longer as I stare at it,
the Illusion makes me feel the center lines are looked higher than outlines of all the letters or are they?
So that bringing up an idea (old idea? )
How can we make reversed "Z" in high center line, low outline for letters only within the sign?
Is it might involving with the cost to create the formula?
Or is it will be added for the next version?
Anyone?
I'm stuck here.

I'm on 2.101 BETA so that "might" explain... what do you have? On the other hand, if you had a previous release, you would get an error I believe...?
Anyway, draw a 4" text and profile it along (ON) the vector with some 90 deg. V tool bit and see what happen... and play from there.
With a combination of the toolpaths there is in the file I linked, you get this... like it?!
Still, if you have any question, feel free to ask.

Bonjour Monsieur Paco,
Thank you for you time to send me a file, it is very nice of you.
After running the embossing_demo.crv output ( no alteration except changed the wood look for review)
of the file you send which is difference to the picture of yours on forum.
Are they the same file with difference software beside VCW for running?
Mine is looked like there some groves were carved inside the letter.
That is not the picture in my mind, maybe something not right from my software.
Regards,
Uncle Hai
PS
Do not try to speak to me French,
I've forgot French for 33 yrs ago

Ce fichier contient... oups, sorry! This file contain 3 kind of results one can achieve from vector design (yes, there's other possibility too). In other words, it's a 3 in 1 (or something alike). I suggest that you run each toolpath one at a time to understand the process... Emboss (2) goes together, V Carve can stand alone and the tree last (Prism, 2D machine 1 and 2D machine 2) goes altogether. Emboss and V carve can output something interesting... All of 'em, I've seen that but quite rarely...
This is some sort of demo file that I use to demonstrate possibility to customers...
Looking at 'Oak-Tree-Road.jpg' (in the first post of this thread) I can see something similar (very interesting) with the leaves...

Thank you very much Paco,
You are one of the men! .
How you figure it out? What if I 'd like to make the size double? Is there limited?
Sorry I ask too much, I can't help it.
This is awlsome a piece of work to open new idea line of for VCW users.
Tony, Hi, any better idea?
