Large sign on a small Shopbot

Post by Phil »

I recently completed my first sign in Signfoam. It was a challenge. My benchtop Shopbot has a cutting area of 32" x 24" The panel for the sign is 60" wide x 40" tall. I had to move and register the panel twice to complete the carving. The sign is double sided. I was very nervous not wanting to make a mistake on material that cost $400. It turned out fine.

Well done, I can understand how nervous it can be when doing a large job like that!
Did you use the toolpath tiling to set up the different cuts?

Beautiful work, very elegant and understated, but eye-catching. I own the same size machine, so I fully understand the hoops you had to jump thru to make your sign...joe

Good looking sign, Phil. Time for a bigger machine?

Nice job, nice layout and plenty of neutral space.

Great to see no unnecessary arced or rotated lettering and no kiddy fonts.
