I do not make calls. I make machines that make calls. That video, in fact most of my videos, are proof of concept showing that a given process can be accomplished. The sound from a box call is too dependent on species of wood, thickness of material and a number of other factors that are outside my talent range. The "tuner's ear" always rules. I do not have one.
That video was prompted by a tutorial on the THO Game calls forum showing its construction using manually operated shop tools (Table saw, Band Saw and Drill Press) and hand chiseling. I followed the tutorial and adapted the process to CNC, using VCPro for design.
I was a little nervous posting my results back on that forum (the hand tool vs. CNC thing) but the original poster was complimentary stating that that his 4 hour hand process could be done in 17 minutes on a machine.
