HI,
I really like this medication stool. Did you make the entire thing on a CNC machine or just the engraving?

Glad this got bumped back up. It is beautiful. I am sure your sweetie loved it. How is it holding up more than 5 years later?

Re: Foldable Meditation Bench
Yes, she loves it and we both continue to use it from time to time. About 2 years ago, we had a party, and sometime during the course of the party a 190 pound man decided to stand on the meditation bench. I don't know what possessed him to do this--there wasn't even any alcohol at the party! It wasn't designed to take this much weight, so when this happened it bent the hinge. I took the original hinges off and put on bigger, stronger hinges, and now it would be strong enough to stand up to that, even though it should never have to. Other than that, or should I say in spite of that, it's holding up great.meflick wrote:I am sure your sweetie loved it. How is it holding up more than 5 years later?

Andy: What kind of hinges did you use, and where did you get them? My Son-In-Law is also a teacher of meditation (Dr. Brandon Nappi - Copper Beech Institute), and I think he would like something like this for his classes.

Re: Foldable Meditation Bench
Frank, I just got 2" hinges at Lowes, like the ones shown at this link: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Gatehouse-2-in ... 1000513859fkrasnicki wrote:Andy: What kind of hinges did you use, and where did you get them?
In an earlier post, I mentioned how the original hinge was bent when someone stood on it. The pictures below show the original, and the replacement, hinges.

Re: Foldable Meditation Bench
I also put some felt furniture bumpers on the inside of the legs so it can be folded silently. This acts as a cushion between the 2 pieces of wood when folded.
