Victorian House Plaque - outdoor version

Post by vgraves »

I found a couple of cedar boards in my wood pile and wondered which of the Vectric monthly projects might look good in cedar. Here's the Victorian house plaque. Thanks for the free projects. I've learned something on every one I've tried.

That turned out really well - love the color variations and grain patterns.

Very nice, where so you get your cedar wood?

I think everyone should do some of the free projects. I always learn a lot from them and they are very well thought out thanks to Michael Tyler. Even if you don't cut them all look at them and see how he does things.

Mark,

I had bought a trailer load of wood from a friend of mine with a band mill, and there were a few cedar boards in it. But I think I've exhausted my supply, and there are friends who've seen this welcome sign that would like one, imagine! I looked in the Materials section of Craigslist, searched for cedar, and found another potential supply. But cedar trees are plentiful here in TN, so it wasn't that difficult.

That's great Van, it really pays to do some examples for people to look at. Good you found another source.

I was hopping the Home Depot or Lowe's would have it but all I've been able to find there is redwood.

I didn't check Craig s list so I need to try that.
