Hi
I have a problem with the chamfer gadget.
I am machining curved slabs of 30mm MDF with Chamfer angles from 10 degrees to 88 degrees. Everything is fine until I get past around 75 degrees, then it seems that the rate at which the router bit (10mm ball nose) steps down into the material in progressive cuts is very aggressive and far to fast.
I have been using the following:
Pass depth of 0.25mm (even at 0.125 its excessive)
Stepover 8%
Any Ideas?

Re: Vcarve Chamfer gadget
My guess that the depth of the chamfer cut passes is controlled by the stepover. Try a smaller stepover for the high angle chamfers.
Another option would be to use the moulding toolpath. Be sure to check the Vary Step Over option.
