Halftoner- Gadget question

Post by flyingsquirrel »

New to the forums and saying hello from London Ontario Canada.

Had a question about the halftoner gadget. Love it, but wanted to know if there's any method of having it plot in both directions? At a 60 degree screen angle it's always moving from bottom left to top right. When it hits the top of the tool path it returns (rapids) to the lower left position and continues it's machining, but only in the one direction. Would be considerably faster if it cut in both directions. Am I missing something?

Any help would be appreciated, or if that's simply the limitations of the gadget then at least I can stop searching. :D

Thanks for any help folks!

All the best,

Kevin.

The toolpath is created by the gadget itself so I don't think there's anything you can do to change the way it cuts.

I use the Halftoner program from Jason Dorie to create a DXF file which I import as it gives me more control over the toolpath - http://jasondorie.com/page_cnc.html
