Problem installing gadgets

I downloaded 5 of the new gadgets and attempted to install them on my Windows 7 Pro system. The screen darkened and basically froze up the system. I was able to clear the install by pressing Ctrl-alt-del but couldn't install any of the gadgets. I have installed other gadgets with no problems, but suspect either there is a problem with the installers or something in my system is blocking the install. Any suggestions?

Hi Jarm2,

I have tested the installers on multiple machines and all have installed fine, my suspicion is that its to do with the User Account Control that pops up and prompts you to allow the installer permission to run. I would try disabling the desktop dimming by navigating to Control Panel, select Action Center, then on the left should be an option to change user account control settings. This should pop open a window that has a slider on it, if you move the slider to the option that reads, do not dim my desktop and try it again after that, this should solve your problem.
