The videos I've seen that refer to a "box" making gadget actually mean the dovetail gadget.

Hi Steven, The 'Box Creator' is a gadget tool from Vectric and is available for download here: http://gadgets.vectric.com/V9/library.html#Modelling Gadgets As part of the recent V9 release process, gadgets are currently being updated for use in the latest Aspire software and will be made available using the link provided. The Box Creator gadget will be available to download in the next few days.

The link to the forum where you can download the gadget is in the description of the video on youtube.

Works well but you need to speak German which I do just about. You'll need to contact the writer of the gadget (Dr. Pierre Branitzki) or do it yourself if you want an english version.

You're talking two different things. The last video you've posted uses the dovetail gadget for which I posted the links a couple of message earlier.

on this link the gadget needs the size of the box then you can specify dovetail or square tabs
you also specify if you want sides top bottom ect its called box creator
ps thank you for your reply I have used the dovetail gadget and I like it but this gadget is different

There has never been a box maker gadget on the Vectric gadget website as that video links implies. There is only the dovetail gadget. No idea where they got those square tab options from. That's never been on gadget I've seen on there. It must be a 3rd party one hosted elsewhere.

The Dovetail gadget will definitely make that box though.

Adrian you don't have the option to select square tabs in the dovetail gadget and you do you enter what shape lid you want

Yes I know it's a different gadget but it's never been on the Vectric website. It's either a new gadget that hasn't been officially released or it's a 3rd party one. The dovetail gadget can make that type of box though as I say.

Using the box gadget, is there a way to not have the dovetails made on the bottom edge of all the parts? I do not have selected to make a top or bottom. I would like to just have a straight bottom as I will put a dado in all the sides for the bottom.

This looks like a pretty cool gadget. Maybe I am asking too much... Thanks
