CNC Mini Projects/ Design and Make

For some time we have been aware of an excellent resource for Aspire users called CNC Mini-Projects. Their product is similar to Vector Art 3D, in that they provide high quality Aspire-ready 3D models but they take it a stage further. A typical CNC Mini-project retails for only $25 and includes up to 5 individual models. These are offered in themed sets and provided with a project layout sheet which shows ideas for different ways they can be used to create custom designs in Aspire.

We are very pleased to announce that Vectric has now acquired CNC Mini-Projects and Todd Bailey who originated the concept will be joining forces with us to work full time on creating new projects under the brand “Design & Make”. Todd brings over a decade of experience in 3D modeling and machining and we’re excited to be working with him to develop this idea to its full potential.

If you’re an Aspire user then we’d recommend visiting the Design and Make website today to download the FREE sample projects and to browse the library of other designs that are available: http://www.designandmake.com

Case Study - Warships And Furniture with Andy Pitts

In this edition of the newsletter we are focusing on the craftsmanship of Andrew Pitts. Nestling in the forests of Northumberland County, Virginia, Andy is a self-taught, multi -award winning furniture maker who has perfected his craft and created an individual style over his 38 years of experience. However, furniture making has not always been Andy’s full time occupation, his previous work being a complete contrast to his life now; we will let Andy take the story from here…

Make sure you look out for all of Andy's great videos that have been linked throughout the article.

Project of the Month & Christmas Giveaway

The Project for November will be published in a second newsletter towards the end of this month, this will be available in time to make gifts for the upcoming holiday season.

Continuing this theme we’re pleased to announce our Christmas Giveaway this year, previously we have had our free vector Advent Calendar but as a change this year we plan the “12 Projects of Christmas”. Every other day from December 1st, a selection of small projects along with the VCarve Pro or Aspire files will be posted for free on the Vectric Labs Blog. We’ll make announcements on the Vectric Forum as they become available. We’ll have more information on these in our end of month newsletter.
