The actual definition of the term “faceplant” is “to suddenly fall forward face first”. Even though that definition doesn’t literally fit this project name, I thought it
was kind of funny and memorable! As my daughters would say, “It’s a Dad Joke”!
The project features three connected plant receptacles with a 3D-relief of a face on each front panel. Hence the name “Face-Plant” Planter!
Software features that were helpful while designing this project included the drawing tools, the trim tool, modelling tools and model import, scaling, merging, the rotation tool, and both the Smart snapping and geometry snapping throughout the process.

Re: Free Project - Face Plant Planter
Hi,
This is so cute, is there a way I could make this in Aspire 8.5? someday I will get 9 as it is interesting but not yet
Thank you
Great work,
Donna

Re: Free Project - Face Plant Planter
Hi Donna,
I'm very glad you like the project - thank you!
I design the Free Projects of the Month using whatever the most current software version is at the time. In this case, the current version was Aspire 9.
I'm sorry it is not backward-compatible to earlier versions of the software. (It will be compatible with future versions, though.)
I hope you'll be able to upgrade to the current software version in the not too distant future. You'll be glad you did, and will certainly enjoy the new features offered in the version 9 software.
Thanks again!

Michael - thanks so much for this! I modified it a bit and used it for a Mother's Day gift, which my kids and I assembled and finished. Used a 1" cherry board I had, finished with two coats of spray gloss poly and then two coats of spray satin poly. It came out great!
