Mother's Keepsake Glue-up

Post by async4 »

I hope someone has a trick to gluing up the mother's keepsake box? I find I have to be an octopus in order to assemble the 4 sides and bottom, and then try to clamp them with out them moving and smearing glue all over the place. Do I have to make a holding jig? If so, does anyone have a plan for one?
Thanx in advance.

Man you guys are quick. Actually a couple of pictures in the thread to aide in the glue up clamp scheme.

Set the base onto scraps leftover from your cut parts. this serves as a platform to raise the base off the table surface.

Glue the back panel and two sides to the elevated base. Use masking tape to hold the parts if you wish, then glue on the front panel.

Check for square and clamp until dry.

Here's a couple photos for you...

EDIT: Thank you guys for adding that link. I forgot all about that! (my post is redundant - took over 45 minutes to upload due to icky internet here at the hotel I'm at in Ohio)
