You will need to update your Aspire from V4 to V4.5
To do this you just need to run Check for updates from the Help menu.
That should not be necessary...they should open in his Aspire 3.5 since that was the version they were for at the time I created the files. (VCP 6.5 will open them, too.)

I think he wrote he was running v4 and wondered why they wouldn't open - the website states for Aspire 3.5 yet apparently they will open in Aspire v4.5, but not v4.

Thank you. I just opened the files in version 4.009 and they opened just fine. Those files should open on ANY version 3.5 and up.

But...certainly agree that he should update to the current 4.5 version, of course.

Some projects have now been updated to allow them to work with the Trial version of the software - http://www.vectric.com/cool-stuff/free- ... jects.html. This project was one of them. As part of that process my guess is they have now been re-versioned and require VCP7.5/Aspire 4.5 to be able to open them. We'll update the information on the website accordingly to reflect this change, apologies for missing this and the confusion.

For users with Aspire 4 they can update to Aspire 4.5 for free: http://www.vectric.com/support/program-updates.html.

For customers with older versions they can download the current trial in order to cut these files - http://www.vectric.com/downloads/trial-software.html or of course purchase the upgrade to the current version - http://support.vectric.com/upgrade.

Thanks,
James

Hi James,

Thanks for the info...I had no idea the files for download might have been changed. (I had been testing/using the original files which still open in the prior versions.)

The PDF instructions show the project will open in those earlier versions of Aspire and VCarve Pro on the first page. I will be pleased to update those instructions once it is confirmed the current files are no longer valid for those particular earlier versions. Please let me know if this would help.

I'm sorry for the puzzle the OP (et al) was experiencing.
