Larry
I often use the clipart from Dover Publications (http://www.doverpublications.com/) the geometric, Celtic and many of the Japanese designs carve well.
Here is a link to all of their vector offerings:

Here are a couple that I have used in the past:

Be sure look for the Mandala books (not vectorized but easily converted with Aspire) and sign up for their weekly samples email as there are often cool new patterns that are either already vectorized or can be done easily with Aspire's tracing tool.

Hello BoorT
Thanks for the reply. I do have several of the Dover books here. I have the 1440 Geometric vector designs which works. I have a couple other books with EPS type files which contain no vector data and do not import to Aspire. Back to the JPG version and tracing. The link to all of their vector offerings is helpful. Also of interest is the mandala stuff. Had never seen that before and it looks like it may be of use.
Anyway, thanks again for the info.
Larry.

Re: Free Project "The Paradise Box" for VCarve Pro & Aspire!
Michael,
First of all I want to tell you I love your designs and really appreciate you sharing them with all of us. I have made the Keepsake box and the Paradise box and have learned a lot from them in the process. I have been modifying the designs a bit and wanted to ask a couple questions.
On the Keepsake box what font did you use to spell out "Mother"?
On the Paradise box where you cut the dadoes in the sides how much clearance did you use? Assuming the wood is 3/4 of an inch did you allow .001 or more on the dadoes?
I will post some pictures later showing some of my results. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Thanks again.
Mark

Thank you! Glad you are enjoying the projects!
The font for the word "Mother's" is: Harrington
The font for the word "keepsakes" is: Carmencita
NOTE: I manually node edited the Carmencita font after changing the font to curves - i.e., I removed certain fine details to assure a good carve without chipout
The dado vectors on the Paradise Box have a slight allowance...they are 0.0156" bigger than a 0.75"-thick board.
