Here’s a quick Autumn-themed project you can create over a weekend! Thanks Michael Tyler
This project was inspired by larger versions of rustic “slat-style” pumpkin arrangements made for porch display. I used Vectric VCarve to create a smaller version suitable for shelf, mantle or table display, just for you!
The carved “woodgrain” uses a V-Bit to cut shallow patterned grooves into the wood for a folksy, old-wood slat appearance. The pumpkins have a tab that is inserted and glued into slots in the wooden base.
A paint and glaze technique is applied to enhance the woodgrain details of the slat pumpkins. A few of the software features used while designing this project included the Trace Bitmap, Drawing and Node editing tools, Snapping features, Boundary Create, and the Interactive Trim (scissors tool).
This project is available to VCarve Desktop, VCarve Pro and Aspire version 9.5 and above users.
