Precix ATC

Post by Edelwoodworks »

I own a Precix Cnc Router with a ATC. Your precix post processor does not support a ATC. Is it possible to add ATC support?

Also when registering I created a username Edelwoosworks and It should have been Edelwoodworks

Thanks

Hi Rod,

The Vectric postprocessor does support Automatic Tool Changing and many of our
standard postp's include this feature. If you can e-mail us (support@vectric.com) a
sample toolpath file that includes the ATC commands used by the Precix controller,
we'll update the postp for you.

Alternatively, let us know if you don't have access to the code and we can get the
information from Precix.

Thanks for the reply Tony. I currently dont have any programs that work with the ATC function. I purchased the cnc with this option and have been using manual tool changes. I will be using a new cabinet design software package that uses the ATC function. I have purchased and awaiting training and Install. This is schedualed for the end of June.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Hi Ed,

Afraid we still haven't resolved the Precix ATC issue for you.

I did request information from Precix but haven't received a response.
If you can obtain a sample toolpath that runs the ATC we can look at
writing a compatible postp.

In case you haven't seen the information, we have just released VCarve Pro
and a summary can be seen at,

Tony I see that dighsx posted a Precix tool change. Will this be able to be used to generate a post processer for my Precix router? Please let me know

I love the new version 3.0

Hi Rod,

Thanks to Jay finding the sample Precix toolpath file, we have been able to
write a postprocessor that supports Automatic Tool Changing.

This file + installation instructions have been e-mailed to you.

Please let us know how you get on with this?

Tony
