I have posted in this section because I don't know where it should go. It is sort of related to PPs.
Recently completed building myself a laser cutter engraver. 60w.
At present I am controlling it with Mach3. Producing gcode via Aspire.
However I am only using 2D profile toolpaths, so it could just as easily be Cut2D or Vcarve Pro.
I wrote a PP for the laser, utilising the "Plunge" and Retract" commands to turn the laser on and off. Works like a treat.
Here is an example of my test piece cut from 6mm acrylic.

Re: Vectric producing code for a laser
Hello Greg,
Wow that acrylic seems to have cut very well. I would definitely like to read more about your laser build along with the details of power etc. I operate a Laser-Punch machine and have wanted to build laser capabilities into my 48"x48" machine that is currently at a stand still.

Greg Sorry for my previous post. I am having trouble staying logged in to the forum, it logs me out at unexpected times and I have to copy the posts so I can repost if it drops me. So here is the post reply " The obvious response is to ask do you have a page that explains the build. I want to build one!" thanks Dan

I am not very good at detailing my builds, but there is something at this link,
http://www.buildlog.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1002
That site has some very good info. It also has an open source design that is very well documented and supported.
The site owner does sell kits of parts needed but they can be sourced and or made from the BOM and drawings.
