Forum member David, shared with me a vector of a snake that he drew.
It looked to be a good example to wrap around a cylinder.
Positioned it within the material. I used guide lines to show me where my chosen circumference would return the cylinder to zero degrees. See pic.
I find Andrew Emmans' free circumference calculator to be a very handy tool when laying these jobs out.
Second pic shows the wrapped toolpath. And the third shows the vee-carving done. A bit of stain in the vee-carving to highlight it.
This example is the vee-carving only. The cylinder was machined earlier with the rounding gadget.
