I'm not near my computer or CNC but just had a thought and was wondering if it was doable.
Does Tiling a job work with the rotary?
I want to design a staff in Aspire for machining on the rotary axis BUT as I only have a 3 feet rotary, so can I TILE my full 60" design in Aspire, output the 3 tile files at 20" apiece, then run each individual 20" section of the staff on the rotary?
I did do this before but as 3 separate files...not as a tile job but was thinking that if I did it as one job, tiled, I'd get a better view of the finished piece in Aspire viewing. Also alignment between each tile would ensure a better fit...was not that good last time when I did it as 3 separate files.
Want to limit each piece to 20" to reduce the flex when cutting and was thinking that tiling would ensure better alignment and better viewing of the job in Aspire.
Thanks...

Re: Rotary and Tiling
OK...just to close this thread...I finally got to my computer and tried it.
For those who may have been thinking about this...tiling option is not an option when choose the rotary setup.
Too bad....

Re: Rotary and Tiling
Mitch....
You mean "by pressing the tiling button". Of course it can be done.
What if...…
You selected a single sided job with the same exact job size that the rotary would use.....
Try the tiling feature
Try using a rotary postP
Ill leave the rest to your imagination

Re: Rotary and Tiling
Thanks Gary.
When I chose Rotary Job Setup, create a test object (staff), then press Tiling button in Toolpath, it gives error.
But I do like your "imagination" idea and will give that a try. Sounds like that would work. Thanks for that.
