Best way to setup stepper motor in Mach 3 for lithopanes ?
Are you better off calculating for degrees or steps per inch in motor tuning ?

If you are referring to a rotary axis ( I think you are) then steps per degree is correct.
Rotary movement can only be measured with an angular unit. Degree, minute, second, radian, etc.
Measuring an angular movement with inches is a bit like measuring a length of string in Fahrenheit
