4th axis indexing with Vcarve pro

Post by Qcreator »

I'm having some problems with the indexing with Vcarve. I can jog the A axis in Mach 3, but I can't seem to get it to move using a program from Vcarve. I entered a simple G-Code G00A45.0 and nothing happens on my screen or my machine? Also, I want the Mach 3 to show the A axis in degrees, not inches. How do I change that? Thanks for the help in advance.

I do not know what type of CNC you have but on mine I have to use a different post processor that converts X to A. Must rotary use degrees and not inches again I do not use Mach3 I use WinCNC.

start with these settings. The first two are under the config in the upper top left, and the third is in the settings tab in Mach. I set my radius to .001 and works best for me, that way Mach is more consistent.

When you command a move of one unit, Mach puts out the number of steps set in motor tuning for one unit,

Set the number of steps per one degree of movement in "motor tuning"
