When wrapping around the y axis, the part file is messed up

Postby mccoy178 » Thu Jan 25, 2018 5:17 pm

Any advice on what I'm doing wrong here would be appreciated. My indexer runs along the x axis on my machine and I do not see any x movement on either of these part files.

When I wrap it along the y axis, you can see that it still has the y moving instead of the x axis and it is only moving the length of the flattened blank instead of the length of it like when it is wrapped on the x axis.

Changing which axis was wrapped was the only setting change I made in Aspire on the two part files in the photo...

Did you select the correct post processor?

Shopbot(Indexer)(Inch)(*.sbp)

There should be one for X parallel, and a different one for Y parallel.

Thank you for the help. Your first reply caused me to dive a little deeper into the post situation. On a .pdf somewhere I noticed that the user is instructed by Shopbot to find the two x and y post processors within their folder system and add them to Aspire. That took care of the issue.

I've been googling and trying to figure this out for two days and it was frustrating, but I am very happy it is cutting now! :D

Glad I could help.

Eight years ago some of us had to figure this out in order to write the instructions. Rotary Tutorial

That document was the first thing I read besides the old Shopbot pdf. It was extremely helpful in getting me 98% there.

If the guy who took it over is still around, I would like to suggest adding the information about finding the post processors from Shopbot and copying them into Aspire (I know that everyone has all sorts of different machines and design software). In my situation, I took faith that the Aspire post processor that was built in would be good. But as I found out the hard way, that post was only good in processing cuts wrapped on the "y" axis.
