Red Oak: 30x5.5x.70
Roughing pass: 1 hr with 1/4" ballnose
The finish pass is cutting as I type this: est. 6 hrs with a 1/16" ballnose at 8% stepover

Thanks for the comment Gene. Its always a bit intimidating starting a million line cut file with a 6 hour run time. I believe there is a market for these types of panels. I was talking to one of the fireplace installers in our area who had just put in an $80,000 fireplace -- so a few thousand for a custom carved panel suddenly doesn't seem so outlandish.

ohhhh yeah, I hear that about those large files, my first 12 hr run was nerve racking spent more time looking to see if all was ok than doing other chores in the shop nowadays a 6 to 8 run seems like ??? childs play...well almost and I am still a newbie, will have had my "antique" bot for 1 yr June 12Rcnewcomb wrote:Thanks for the comment Gene. That's incredible... Tapered or straight ballnose?
