Turkey & Bear

Post by Rcnewcomb »

Carved in a poplar glue-up. Material is 9.25x27.625x1.3. The design depth is 0.75. Rough with a 1/4" end mill. Finish with a 1/8" ballnose. Total carve time was about 160 minutes. I used a set of chisels around the border. We will try glazing this and then we may paint over it. Obviously this is a test piece. I have several other glue-ups ready and waiting.

Photos were taken with my phone - hence the poor image quality.

I cut the boarder off since it was a distraction. Again, this is just a test piece.

Nice work Randall,

On one of my recent posts I had a border that didn't work out very well so I trimmed it off and added a 1/8" thick frame with a rounded top edge. That might work on yours too. Maybe a little thicker than 1/8"
