I was showing someone the deer mantle from the Design and Carve Series and he commented that the scene didn’t look real because you would not see that many bucks together and it was missing some does. So using some of the tricks that James shows in the tutorials, I modified some of the deer models to be does. The top one was created using the body of the mule-deer-a.v3m and the head of deer-a.v3m with the antlers removed.
The bottom deer is the deer3-a.v3m with the neck trimmed down the antlers removed and the ears moved more toward the top of the head. I had to create each ear as a separate component to move them. I think it needs a little more work. The face looks to broad.
Now I just need to make one of a deer feeding or drinking. Aspire makes it pretty easy once you think it out. It took me about 3 hours to think it out and make the modifications for both models.

Re: Modifying models to get other models
Very nice! I disagree with your friend's comment - I have seen as many as 10 bucks together with several of them jousting and the females on the outskirts.

Maybe you wouldn't see that many bucks together... unless they were jousting.

You always see the bucks together just prior to the Rut. After that is every busk for themselves...LOL..1 comment on the deer you posted... The bottom deer has to short of a neck. Looks more like a cross between a german shepard and a deer. LOL

Fleming,
It was a potential customer and as they say the customer is always right. I did a search on deer herds on google and yes you are right. The guys most be hung up on female animals and fowls. He saw the turkey but wants some female turkeys in it also.
Jim,
LOL... I have been playing around with it. It's getting better. The head and neck are narrower now. Less of the german shepard look, more of the deer look.
