I'm playing around with the designs and I come accross a problem with rest machining while experimenting with design 11-Mountain-Forest Mantel
Steps I'm taking:
1. toolpath with 1/2" ballnose at 8% stepover
2. using Ctrl + Model/Create Component from Toolpath Preview
3. turn off original components just leaving Toolpath Preview component
4. convert bitmap to vectors
5. Do some cleanup
6. Offset inward by 0.08
7. Offset outward by 0.08
8. click finish toolpath and get error: model thickness exceeds material thickness (and the model is now between 1.2525 and about 1.36)
I guess I am suprised the rest machining yielded a component thicker than the original

After you clean up your new boundary vectors (step 7), are you turning the original components back on and the toolpath preview off?

Randall,
With adding additional step above, I just verified everything worked as expected to get to Finish Toolpath menu.
Give it a try.
