I've always like the coat rack Tim Merrill made from the Design & Carve mantle scene and finally got around to making one myself.
It's made out of 5/4 hickory that I planed down to 1 inch. It's 48 inches between the furthest hooks. The only finish at this point was some sanding sealer. I sold it like that to a friend who's going to stain it himself.

As I recall, it took about 7hrs with a 1/8 ball nose. Not as long as I thought it would be.

Finally got around to making another coat rack for myself and finishing it. This one is also hickory, and I used General Finishes Colonial Maple gel stain and Brown Dyke glaze. Topped it off with a couple coats of polyurethane.
