1st Queen Bed with carved head and foot boards

All the material is blued pine rough cut from a local guy who has a band saw.
Headboard designed useing aspire with a combination of models.
foot is one of James models with a little tweaking.

great job!
i have one question - and it's not a critique, just a question -
did you think about chip carving the top of the posts with a guage to match the faces?

Thats really nice, great work. Dont to forget to post pics after its all made up (matress etc.)

Cool! That looks like some white pine I've seen.

I'm wondering how the head and foot boards are joined to the posts.

Yes, James feel free to use images.
The posts texture is to replicate hand hewn.
The Head and foot board are joined by mortise and tenon glued.

The bed looks awesome. Can you give me a few more details on the bed. I looking to make one for myself. How big are the slaps? and did you have a plan to go by putting the bed together? do you have any pics when you were putting it together?

Roger, the slabs were about 8' long and 2" thick widths veried.
I didnt have a plan. But, I did draw a rough drawing of what I wanted to do with slabs and posts.
I plained both sides of the Slabs and then cut them down to different widths and glued them back up.
The carvings are 4'x20" done with a 1/8" ballnose single path at 3" a second
No I didnt take any pictures of the project in different stages.
