Customer's Request
Been ask to design and carve a Head and Foot board, profiles are still in the rough and need some tweaking, but the customer is happy with the layout.

Buck
Please don’t take this as anything but constructive. I know you have some tweaking to do but I would fade the bear feet into the grass or add some bear grass around the feet. The eagle on the right I would mirror to the left so it is facing inward. That will draw the eye toward the middle instead of off the page. Aside from that I think it looks fantastic.

Re: Customer's Request
Jim, thanks for your input. That is the reason I posted the previews, to get comments from people with much better artistic eyes then myself. Customer is gluing up the stock this week, so hoping to have them on the machine within a week.

Finished cutting the second design this morning, Head Board w/Bear is 46"x24" and the Foot Board w/Elk is 46"x22"
Esteeme 1, thanks for your advice. With it I made some changes with the elk plaque also.

Re: Customer's Request
Buck,
Those look great. It definatly looks like rutting season. The eagle actually looks like it is focusing on the elk below very cool. The placement of the elk gives a since of interaction with each other.
Thanks for the post and nice job!

Not to good of a photo, but my customer send me this picture of the construction of his new bed. Remember the carvings are 46" wide. If he sends me a better photo I will post it...............Buck

Re: Customer's Request
Great looking bed, what are the post you used and how did you finish them if you dont mind me asking. I'm trying in my mind to see how to carry the post into a matching night stand and dresser. You might want to as well, I think your customer will be back for them...

Re: Customer's Request
Jay,
My customer, constructed the bed and frame work, all I did was the 3D carving on the panels. Sorry I can't offer any information. He's approx 70 miles south of me, so I havn't even seen the bed, just the picture he sent me............Buck

Do a Google image search for "Rustic Furniture" and "Log Furniture" and you should see some good examples to get ideas from. You could also try Rustic Furniture Plans/Log Furniture Plans and you may get some detailed construction ideas.
