Cornering speed

Post by greywolf »

I am using Aspire 2 on a Shop Sabre (WinCNC controller)

I want to be able to slow the feed rate down as the bit comes to a corner, and then speed it up after it changes direction, to help minimize the side force, so that the bit doesn't push the material sideways, thus breaking the vacuum, which allows the part to move. I can't see anything in Aspire to do this. Is there some adjustment I can make in the post processor file to accomodate this?

hello

what you asking for, that is the control software "todo"...
i don't know wincnc....
in mach the continous velocity has an optin, as you can set a minimal angle, and the program slow down to zero on those corners...i mean all corner <90, sharper than 90 deg, if it has been set for 90 value...

you might need to read trough the user guide of your controlprogram, the vectric programs are generate only g-codes and those has no any effect on your controlsoftware...

i hope it helps you
thanks

On WinCNC I believe this is controlled through the look ahead and the accelerator factor. If there is a WINCNC.INI file look in there for settings.

in your wincnc.ini file there is a comand called smoothing mine is set at 20, do you have servos or steppers and can you copy and paste your ini file here?

this is a generic file from a new seat of wincnc

the setting relation ship between a (axcelleration) in the axis spec and r (rate)
are the culprit's

[X Axis]
axisspec=p0 s1 d1 r500 o1 e1 a1000
axisvel=r1800 f800 s50 m400 h1800 c10

[Y Axis]
axisspec=p0 s0 d0 r500 o1 e1 a1000
axisvel=r1800 f800 s50 m400 h1800 c10
axislo=p3 b5

[Z Axis]
axisspec=p0 s2 d2 r100 o1 e1 a500
axisvel=r100 f50 s5 m20 h100

[W Axis]
axisspec=p0 s3 d3 r100 o1 e1 a500
axisvel=r100 f50 s5 m20 h100
