Hello,
I'm new to the Vectric forum and new to CNC routing.
I recently purchased a 1999 AXYZ 4010 router from a sign shop that replaced it with a new machine. I was on site when they showed me the router running before picking it up. I haven't been able to get the PC to connect with the router to transmit files. I tried a new data cable but that didnt work either. I'm not sure what else to do or check, all the fuses are good in the control cabinet and have power to the pendant, it can cut a rectangle once i enter all the settings from the table. I have attached 2 photos, 1 showing Available Machines and the other showing Communication. The LRC shows no connection and no current. Any help with this is much apperciated.
I have done some reading on this forum and am considering different software/controller also, but would like it up and running first....
Thanks
Tim

Re: AXYZ 4010 question/help
Try this, not sure if it is the problem, but it's where I would start.
Windows start menu
Right click on “Computer” in the right side menu
Select “Properties”
Select “Device Manager”
click on “Continue”
Select “Ports” (left click on “Ports”)
Click on “AXYZ-USB to RS-485”
Right click on “Properties”
Select “Port Settings”
Select “Advanced”
Select “COM PORT #” (COM Port number must be between 1 to 5)
Select “OK”
Exit to home screen

Re: AXYZ 4010 question/help
Thanks for the reply John. When I select "ports" , comm1, comm2, and printer show up. There is no AXYZ-USB to RS485
The PC has the 9 Pin connections in the back and runs windows98.

Re: AXYZ 4010 question/help
How is your computer connected to the machine control?
Does it have an internal card, or does it connect through a usb port, then to the USB/485 connector?

Re: AXYZ 4010 question/help
It uses a cable with 9 pin connections on each end, each end has male connections and there is an adapter for the computer connection which are 9 pin male

When you open up toolpath, does the machine connect to the computer?
Do you know how to access the settings using toolpath?

Re: AXYZ 4010 question/help
I have opened tool path and selected the TEST icon since it is a simple circle, a box pops open that says 'Available Machines'; in the box appears "Offline: Green (21771)
I assume the settings you are talking about are under the SETUP ??
