When I set up my engraving start up parameters, lower left (using V Carve 7.5) you would think that the cutter would start in the lower left hand corner on the wood. my problem is that the router traverse to the lower right hand orner. any suggestions where I have gone wrong.

Where do you have X zero and Y zero defined in your controller software? Is that corner the physical location of your 0,0?
Unless you have the 0,0 set to match what you have in VCarve then it's not going to go to the place you expect. The two setups must match.
