Laser engraver/cutter

Post by sawguy »

Has anyone actually used Vcarve pro or Aspire with a laser engraver/cutter. Any comments you have on this matter would be very welcome. Thanks

Yes I often do my art work in Vectric (being a CNC'er first and then export the file as a dfx to corel for the laser.

I use a laser engraver and CNC sometimes both for the same project.
As Gary said, your file must be exported from Aspire/v-carve Pro as eps or dxf into software with print function having line width capability.

I prefer eps but some folks say they've had problems. I always drag the file into corel rather than importing perhaps that makes a difference.

Most folks I know use some version of Corel Draw... I use X6..

At this time there is no print function in aspire or v-carve pro.. perhaps in the future?
If you are doing raster engraving only [no cutting] you can engrave from programs like Adobe Photoshop.
