The new machine has arrived

Post by Rcnewcomb »

The new GCnC machine has arrived. I had to use a Honda Civic as a makeshift forklift to move it from the road up the driveway into the garage/shop. If California finally slides into the ocean we will know what tipped the scale. (and why did the forum turn my photo sideways?)

That's a beast. It would be straight through the floor of my workshop!

Randall,
Congratulations on the new machine.
Please give us a “heads-up” when you post the photos after assembly. I need to take my keyboard out of the way otherwise I will Drool all over it.

I'm eager to see the beast at work.

Randall, please stop immediately spending time on secondary topics. All other topics are secondary :D

We assumed it was California tipping under the weight of your new machine! :D

I finally got the 220V hooked up after I determined the electrician had mislabeled the breakers, and used an RV plug instead of a dryer plug.

Gary guided me through resetting one breaker inside the control box and then we got it to home itself. It is super quiet. The pancake air compressor is the noisiest part of the whole setup.

Tomorrow I'll experiment with the tool changer and run the spindle through the warm-up cycle.
