Looking for what people are using on their cnc machines to blow air directly at bit. I have seen some plastic segmented hoses online, but not sure that they would stay in place when using air. Also, how are you controlling the air on/off? Are you just using a manual valve? What is the recommended air pressure? I am looking to get into machining some aluminum and want to be able to keep the bit cool and the area free of chips.
Thanks

Re: Coolant/Air hoses
I use a combo platter on my mill. In the picture below, left to right, Flood coolant, Mist, Air. Flood and air are adjustable. Which one is used selected by post processor. Segmented coolant hoses & tips from McMaster

Re: Coolant/Air hoses
The segmented hoses work fine. (And don't cause any problem when they run into a clamp.) Use a needle valve to control the flow, the adjustment can be fine tuned with this kind of valve.

Re: Coolant/Air hoses
Mike is right on. The ball valves that are on the spindle are a coarse or final adjustment. Real adjustment is by regulators (for air pressure) and needle valves (for the mister) attached to the solenoid controls.
