HELP PLEEEASE

Postby oldlogtrucker » Sun Dec 18, 2016 8:27 pm

I have a stingerII
This morning it was giving me error readings on the z axis, first to high and then too low. I started over with the initialization and the starboard side of the gantry jumped. Nothing is in the way. The Gantry is off by a quarter of an inch. from side to side. Any suggestions as to what may be the problem?

Oldlogtrucker,

Don't know the stingerII. But if you have two Y axis drive screws you could try this.
Turn off the machine to de-energize the steeper motors, find a point on either side to measure from the gantry to the front of the machine to check square. Then by hand rotate one of the lead screws to bring the gantry into square.

If you don't have two drive screws on the Y axis, ignore me. ;-}

Problem solved.
It was a limit switch on one side of the machine.
