Router Speed
Router Speed
I have the piranha FX and am using a Bosch Colt 1hp. What speed level should i be set at for wood carving? And Litho will be at a slower speed as well?

Re: Router Speed
When I calculate a speed for wood, it almost always is less than the minimum speed of the Colt. So just set it for the minimum speed.
Ideally, the bit won't get hot, and you will get chips instead of powder. but for me, that means around 5000 rpm at 100 ipm for a two flute cutter.

Re: Router Speed
Sounds like the US intended Colt is speed selectable, the Australia intended is fixed speed at 12000 rpm.
Very inconvenient.
