I am going to a model railroad show at the Big E this saturday. I will have a friend with me that is not really interested in anything computer but he would have fun for a quick visit to your place.

If you want we could hook up for a real quickie visit - maybe an hour.

email me at voisil@comcast.net and we will set up plans.

I would plan on mid to late afternoon Saturday Jan 24, 2015
Leo,
I should be home on Saturday. I live about 10 miles from the show.
Address:
995 stony Hill Road
Wilbraham, MA
Call ahead to make sure I home (4135635490 or 5968033).
Hope to see you and thanks,
Jim
Jim,

Not going out that way today, the snow doesn't really bother me, but my leg is. I can hardly walk on it today - don't know what is wrong.

You can post question's on the forum and get some answers - this is a great place for that.

You are welcome to come to my place also or I could bring my laptop and meet someplace mid point sometime.
Leo,
Hope the problem is just temporary, I will check to see what is coming up for next week and maybe we could get together.
I will contact you to set something up.

Jim

Hi Jim, Phil,

I'm not completely up with your conversation but I believe you can cut out the tree a little tighter than what you are showing.

Use the trace bitmap function and select as many colors needed to get a solid vector around the tree. Don't worry about filing in the model. just select the outer vector when complete and cut the tree away from the surrounding material.

If you need some pics attach the tree jpeg or btmap and I will try to help.

Hi Jim, there is nothing like working out meetings with fellow CNC users in your area. there are a few vectric users in the Hampton Roads area and we have been meeting on a quarterly basis. But this forum is a great source too.

I have been meaning to create a nice tree for a long time and this post inspired me to do it. my last post was 2 hours ago I did this and clipped out instructions as I went. It's really informal but I will try to clarify each pic.

Nice explanation Jim,
Another option, if you don't want to deal will all the vectors and the node adjustment, would be to use the undo brush in the sculpting tool list.
If you hold the "shift" key down while using the undo brush it acts like an eraser.
It can be a bit faster for the really small areas.
Just another option to keep handy.

Jim,

I played around with Dropbox and learned how to share a file. Go to this page https://www.dropbox.com/help/167 It has pretty simple step by step directions.

Phil

One thing I forgot to mention, you have to copy the file into your dropbox folder first.
