Help with pricing my CNC machine.

I hope this is an appropriate question for this forum. I'm moving from Michigan to Florida and sadly have to leave my CNC behind. It's a 2009 48x96 EZ Router with maybe 500 hours of use. It uses a Porter Cable Router. I was the original purchaser. It was essentially a big hobby toy for me. I added a small laser to the unit for engraving. Never had any problems and everything works well. I would be including the control computer and software.

Any ideas on a resale value?

Depends on how much time you have to sell it.

If you have lots of time - advertise it at 90% of the cost to buy one new today. You just might get that price. If no hits, then drop to 80%.

It also depends on what still owe on it, or on how much of a hit you can afford to take if you are in a hurry to sell it. Then - maybe 50% of the cost of a new machine at today's price. At that - it should move very fast.

It also depends on how you market the machine.

Maybe you can talk to the supplier you bought it from - maybe they will buy it, or give you a credit towards a new machine after you relocate, or maybe they can find a buyer for it.

You could contact a used machine dealer in your area - but those guys are horse traders and would likely offer you 25% of new.

You can do a search of used machines to see what is available out there and what they are selling for.

If you thought you might want to stay with the CNC field, perhaps with a smaller machine, you might consider a trade.

I think not having a shop would make me seriously reconsider moving!!

Thanks for the input. It gives me a good starting point. I never considered a trade for a smaller unit but that might be an option too.
