cutting errors
cutting errors
I'm getting cutting errors on this piece. I draw it in some modeling software, export it as dxf.
These errors do not show up in some modeling software, CoralCad or Vcarve picture viewer
See pictures.
Please help.

ps Thanks Brian for previous help on planes and symmetrical drawing

Re: cutting errors
This looks like a hardware problem, nothing to do with the software side.
Check for backlash on your X-Y axes, loose couplers would do this too.

Re: cutting errors
It would be worth spending some time with the "Fit Curves to Vectors" tool as well to convert all the hundreds of individual nodes on the corners into nice smooth arcs that will machine a lot better once you've got the hardware issue sorted.

Re: cutting errors
I don't see anything wrong in the program file.
Does Probotics have a support forum to show them you issue?

Re: cutting errors
Hello,
PROBLEM SOLVED!
No hardware issues found.
Most interesting. I exported the files from some modeling software using the .pdf format instead of .dxf format to VCarve Pro. No cutting errors!
Adrian,
My normal routine after file is loaded into VCarve is to 1/ move drawing to xy,0,0 2/ check for duplicate vectors/remove DV 3/ check for open vectors/close open vectors.
Should I add "select all" and "fit curves to selected vectors" to my routine?
Thanks for helping

Re: cutting errors
Exporting as PDF basically exports as EPS format which supports bezier curves for the curves rather than the hundreds of little line segments that you get with a DXF so you won't need the fit curves if you do it that way.
It's probably why it's cutting ok now as well. Sounds like your control software isn't handling the slow down for corners well when it's lots of short line segments.

Thank you Adrian.
