Some CUTS don't look perfect..

Some CUTS don't look perfect..

Postby Stompa » Mon Apr 28, 2014 8:14 am

Hi
I have a question about my cuts. Please see the below picture and you will see the very small (close up makes them look bad) lines that are left in the timber.. Its like a very fine furry line.
The thing I'm wondering is... Is this a normal thing??? as I've tried lots of different types of cutters and most times get the same thing. Do you think its that my machine may be out of balance??..
Any help would be very gratefully taken as I'm getting a little frustrated..
Thanks

Most likely free play in the axes somewhere or the router/spindle is way out of plumb. You shouldn't be able to see any trace at all where each pass starts and finishes if everything is working correctly.

Hi Joey
It was the spindle slightly out of square.. Just used a small square and did a couple of adjustments & fixed the problem..
